Women I Might Have Known celebrate the women I have known and admired. The women are painted from memory or photographs and represent both the admiration I have for the women in my family and my family's love for storytelling.

Jimmy Sellars
Jimmy Sellars is a Colorado-based mixed media artist who exhibits internationally. His new series, My Year as a Rabbit, began in February 2011 and consists of three parts; Migration, Proliferation and Rabbit. All of these pieces are currenlty in sketch form and have been created on an Apple iPad, tablet or on actual paper.

Bernadette Fuentes
Bernadette Fuentes will be in the gallery on Friday evening, Sept 2. From 6 – 9 PM, and Saturday morning, Sept 3, from 10 – 12 PM. She will feature a trunk show providing you with an opportunity to purchase her made jewelry, discuss an original designed piece or buy single beads to create your own lovely designs. It’s a great time to stock up on favorite focal beads as well as the small accent pieces. Come meet Bernadette and check out a master artists work.

After more than 20 years of serious study Bernadette is known as one of the visionary lampwork artist who helped bring the art form of beautiful glass beads to the fore front. She has diligently built a repertoire of skills that she has shared generously with bead makers everywhere. She is internationally known for her expertise with fumed metals, blown beads and exceptional ability to build beautiful colors in glass. Bernadette sells her pieces in galleries and bead shows everywhere. She is a teacher in her own studio, at national glass events, and in on line tutorials through Craftedu.com.

Shack Man Glass Studio and Gallery is pleased to host an exhibition of new glass works by Colorado artist Steve Tillman. Steve's ocean inspired pendants, marbles and sculptures are amazing and highly affordable. Also be sure to check out Sydney Eitel's Feathered Friends, a series of new paintings of birds!

Don't forget to stop in for Denver's city-wide First Friday Art Walk. Tennyson Street is always hopping with incredible art, amazing food, outstanding deals and overall just a great place to be on First Fridays. We will be offering live demonstrations and, of course, our flaming cupcakes!

May at Shack Man Glass

Shack Man Glass opens this Friday, May 6th with an exhibition of new work by Colorado glass artist Dan Urban. Dan's exhibition, Veil, showcases some really amazing new pieces. We also welcome back Patricia Mudge with her Images of Spring paintings, Shack Man's vases and vessels, and showcasing flowers from her jewelry line - Slinky Lynnx Chic.

Join us First Friday!
The city wide First Friday Art Walk is upon us, so don't forget to hit the Award Winning Tennyson Street area (Westword's Best Shopping Neighborhood in Denver). With the incredible artwork, outstanding and award winning restaurants, music in the streets and great boutiques, Tennyson Street offers First Friday participants one of Denver's best evenings. The walk begins at 6 p.m. this May 6th so grab your comfy shoes, your wallet, and bring your appetite for beautiful things and yummy food and we'll be waiting.

Oh, and don't forget to leave room for our live demonstrations and our signature Flaming Cupcakes!

Hands On Saturday
Shack Man Glass is a proud participant in the Tennyson Street Cultural District's First Saturday program, Hands On Saturday.

The studio is open each First Saturday for a variety of exciting projects. Work one on one with a glass artist to create a masterpiece - no experience necessary and materials are provided. Appointments are suggested but walk-ins are always welcome. Each session runs about 30 minutes. Pick from one of the following Spring projects:

Beautiful examples of fine art glass created by participants to the Hands On Saturday mini workshops

Make your own Glass Heart Pendant
Make one to give and one to keep! Perfect for Mother's Day giving.
Make 1 for $30 or 2 for $50.

Embellish a set of Glass Beads
Decorate a set of black or white glass beads with dots or frit or both. Or if you'd rather you can direct our resident artists to style the beads as you desire.
1 set of 5 beads $45.

Celebrate Spring with Aspens Leaves
Say goodbye to winter with your very own Aspen Leaf Pendants, Make them to wear or string into a beautiful mobile for a sunny window.
Make one leaf for $20 and $15 for each additional leaf.

Offered each First Saturday this spring from 11 am - 2 pm. March 5th, April 2nd, May 7th. Pick up your creation the following Wednesday.
